I went for Littlehampton. Big swell hammering in with cross shore 35mph. Shorebreak mean when we arrived. It was certainly 5-6 foot faces for the surfers taking rides further along the beach and probably bigger swell further out.
The wind eased a bit and the tide dropped out, allowing me to launch with 4.5m on 85ltr trad wave. After 15 mins, this was maxed out for the following hour. Big waves meant good rides and huge jumps and backies by some sailors. I was just stacked in the end so came in and changed to 4m. this was lovely for a while but wind was dropping/swinging by 2pm.

You could still catch a wave and go down the line, but not enough oomph on the 4m. So I rapidly changed up to the 5m and from then on it was cross off and reeling for 100m dtl rides. The lip peaking around waist to chest to head high at best. A bit of a wallow at times to get out to the wind line, but loads out the back and just right once you were on a wave for turn after turn after turn.
